The Indigenes Free Trade Zone Parcel B & Resettlement Community have berated Ogun State Monarch, Onirete of Irete, Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (popularly known as Alhaji White) and his cohorts for threatening the family memebers with defamation suit over the petitions written to Lagos State Government and security agencies.
Abomiti, Yeguda and Eti-Osa Families made it known while the representatives were briefing the newsmen in Lagos.
According to the Chairman of Aba Onigbagbo Family of Abomiti Zone, Chief Obafemi Obajimi, Oba Ganiyu Awokoya has been issuing several threats to their family members over the petitions written to Government and Security Agencies.
” After seeing several petitions written to Lagos State Government and Security Agencies in Nigeria, Onirete of Irete, Oba Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya has been issuing threats to our family members and other concerned residents. Our petition to Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman over the criminal conversion, fraudulent take over, thuggery, sporadic shooting and malicious wanton damage to the landed properties of the resettled communities is real and we shall continue to toe the part of law and civility, ” he said.
Recall that the families are indigenes of Yeguda, Abomiti and Eyin-osa, the different communities tagged as (Lekki Free Zone Parcel B Resettlement Communities) by the Lagos State Government, and they are the communities displaced by the Lagos State Government who compulsorily acquired their customary lands for the Lekki Free Zone Scheme and consequently compensated them after enumerations by relocated and resettled them on Abomiti, Yeguda and Eyin-osa.
In the petition addressed to Inspector General of Police, Alkali Baba Usman over criminal conversion, fraudulent take over, thuggery, sporadic shooting and malicious damage to their landed properties, the families made it clear that Quack Surveyor, Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Alhaji White) and his fraudulent real estate cohorts were the problems and Nigeria Police must investigate.
It reads, “Our complaint is on the vast hectares of land statutorily allocated to our clients by the Lagos State Government but it has been illegally taken over and unlawfully converted by a Quack Surveyor Ganiyu Olusegun Awokoya (Alhaji White) and his fraudulent real estate cohorts, conniving with Oba Animashaun who have stationed a notorious land grabber in person of Muraina Banjoko (Threeco) and his gang serial killers fully armed with sophisticated guns on the strategic parts of our clients’ lands with a view to completely wade the original owners away from their resettlement lands so as to condemn them to status of wanderers.
“ Now, Lekki Free Zone Resettlement lands is full of strangers stationed thereon by Quack Surveyor Olusegun Awokoya to maim, murder and kill any bonafide indigenes of Yeguda, Abomiti and Eyin-osa resettlement communities who wish to challenge their acts of vandalism they are perpetrating therein which is detrimental and prejudicial to the equitable and legal interests of the communities’ statutory lands,” the petition said.
