The District Governor of 404B-3 Nigeria of Lions Clubs International, Pioneer DG 404B3 Nigeria, Lion (Otunba) Olayiwola Fadairo has promised that his district will cater for the less privileged persons in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo respectively.

Fadairo stated this during the Fund Raising Luncheon for Service Projects and Public presentation of the District Governor and other cabinet members.

Apart from being the pioneer District Governor of District 404B-3 Nigeria, he was once the cabinet treasurer and club’s chairperson.

While speaking to journalist about his plans as the first District Governor of the newly created District 404B-3, he promised to focus on vision, hunger, diabetes, cancer and the environment.

”Becoming a district governor is something most people enjoy but for one to add the word pioneer to it, means the first and for that I would try as much as possible to keep that position. I will make sure I lay a very good foundation for anyone coming after me. My district is a new district (404B3), and I have to put a lot of things into consideration among which is unity within the circle. Another aspect is knowing the kind of people I will be working with, I have to gain their confidence so that at the end of the day, we would all be at the same pace and at the same level.

”Being a pioneer governor, my position entails really showcasing the new district; letting members of the club know the difference between the old district (404B1) and the new district (404B3). My duty is to create awareness for the new district and make it unique amongst other districts. Though as we all know the Lions’ Club is all about serving humanity that is something that would never change.

”My plans are numerous, I am working on the five projects of the Lions Club international which are: vision, hunger, diabetes, cancer and the environment. For example, I bought some boxes of eyeglasses (5000 pieces) which were recently delivered to me from the United States of America for this project. The shipment of the glasses was paid for by most of the sister clubs in the USA,” he said.

Meanwhile, Otunba Fadairo reiterated that there was a need to ensure that no one was deprived of the gift of sight.

He said, “We understand the profound impact that clear vision can have on an individual’s quality of life. It is our duty and responsibility to ensure that no one is deprived of the gift of sight.

“We will collaborate with eye care professionals, organisations, and communities to provide comprehensive eye care projects, spread awareness about visual health, and support individuals with visual impairments.”

The District Governor later opined that District 404B-3 Nigeria will regenerate, renew, and transform lives and communities.
