As Nigerians celebrate Independence Day on October 1, 2024; Zone ‘C’ Chairman of Tricycle Owners And Operators Association Of Nigeria (TOOAN of NURTW ), Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Abiola Istijabah raised humanitarian bar, gave out 25 Million Naira worth of fuel to 5,000 Tricycle riders.
The Free Fuel Vouchers of Five thousand Naira each were distributed to 5,000 Tricycle riders within Alimosho Federal Constituency to give succour to riders at this critical time and celebrate 64th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria.
While monitoring the distribution of the free fuel, the journalists witnessed several tricycles collecting Five thousand Naira worth of fuel each at Rain Oil Filling Station (Kola Alagbado road ), NNPC Filling Station (Ewegbemi Command Road ) and Fatgbem Filling Station(Ipaja- Ayobo road ).
” We are celebrating Nigeria today and we use the opportunity to support the tricycle operators and their activities. Today, we are in this country and we need to support the country with what we have. That is why we are giving free fuel worth of 5,000 Naira to each of the 5,000 tricycle riders.
” To give opportunity to all riders, we didn’t segregate. We are giving free fuel to all tricycle riders here. It is all all tricycle riders in Alimosho. But as we are seeing now, some are from Ifako Ijaiye,Ojokoro, Agege and Ikeja. It is basically to make our people happy, celebrating the independence Anniversary of Nigeria,” he said.
The TOOAN Zonal Chairman later praised the leadership of Lagos State NURTW Chairman, Alhaji Mustapha Adekunle Sego for giving the clear direction to all members in the state.
