Jose Mourinho becomes Fenerbahce’s new manager

According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio. Mourinho, 61, is set to replace Ismail Kartal at the Turkish Super Lig club on a two-year contract, marking his 11th managerial role.

Fenerbahce finished second in the Turkish Super Lig for the third consecutive year, prompting the club to seek new leadership.

Jose Mourinho’s appointment follows his departure from Roma in January, where he spent two-and-a-half years.

Although there were reports linking Mourinho to Saudi Arabian club Al Qadsiah, it appears his next destination is Turkey.

Mourinho’s upcoming role at Fenerbahce coincides with his recent announcement to join TNT Sports for the coverage of the Champions League final on June 1.

The manager, known as ‘The Special One,’ expressed his desire to return to management after a five-month break.

In a previous interview with MBC Egypt, Mourinho had hinted at a future managerial position in Saudi Arabia, saying, “I will go to Saudi Arabia in some free time, but I am convinced that I will work there. I don’t know when, but I am pretty sure of it. No one knows the future, but I will definitely do this. Doors are always open for me in Saudi Arabia. I want to feel the development there.”

However, for now, Mourinho is poised to take the reins at Fenerbahce, aiming to bring glory back to Istanbul.

Despite Fenerbahce’s strong performance last season, amassing 99 points, they still fell three points short of their rivals Galatasaray.
