The Association of Agege and Orile-Agege Community Media Practitioners (ACMAP)on the 19th of January, 2024 held its inaugural ceremony of its Executive members and New Year retreat.*
The event had in attendance the former Chairman of Nigeria Institute of Public Relations, Lagos Chapter, Barr. Jide Ologun and all Acmap members. It was an event that brought together professional and independent community media Practitioners in Agege.
While addressing the Agege based Community Media Practitioners, Barr. Ologun urged them to ensure they use their media platforms to bring visible development and growth to Agege and Orile-Agege.
“As the custodian of Information, your primary assignment is to project Agege in a positive light to the rest of the world by adhering strictly to the ethics, rules and laws of this noble profession. You should also work in synergy to initiate transformational programme that will bring about people oriented developments to communities in Agege and Orile Agege,” he said.
He later challenged the newly Inaugurated executive members under the chairmanship of Comr. Oloyede Kolawole Sunday, the Founder and Chief executive Officer of AgegeTV Online to endeavour to stand out, persevere and take opportunities that come their way. This, he believes will facilitate their growth.
Ologun threw the challenge during the Inauguration ceremony in Lagos State,Nigeria.
The Professional Image maker expressed the hope that the vision of the association will be fully realized and manifested in the lives of the members and the good People of Agege and Orile Agege to reach their full potentials.
He also urged the executives to identify ways to support Youth Development and come up with programs that will place Agege on the world map in future, this he also believes is achievable.
While delivering his inaugural speech, Oloyede Kolawole appreciated his members and the legal practitioner cum media professional, Barrister Jide Ologun, who conducted the inauguration ceremony and the oath of office.
Oloyede said, ” Today and this year is a special year in Agege and Orile-Agege. We have all made history today, not only as a body, but as individuals and partners in progress, development and the growth of Agege and Orile-Agege irrespective of our affiliations to any group or persons.
“I am happy to celebrate this moment with everybody present here today. I know we can grow fast and stay strong as one body and i do hope we could celebrate many more milestones together.
“It’s easy to form an association, because it takes great effort, but staying together as an association requires greater responsibility from both the executives and members”.
Oloyede Kolawole, therefore, encouraged his executives and members to do all it takes to build and get the association growing.
The executives pledged to work assiduously to bring out the best in the members and the association at large. Oloyede called for the unwavering support of all members to work together by ensuring that the aims, objectives, vision and mission of the association are collectively achieved.
The inauguration ceremony culminated with the association retreat where members deliberated on the way forward for the association, its future programs and other relevant issues. The event concluded with an exciting moment where members were treated to delicious meals and drinkables as part of activities ushering them into the new year. It was truly a joyful and memorable event for all.
