Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party will today meet former Rivers State Governor and Minister of Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
The moves by 24 members of the Rivers State House of Assembly to impeach the state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, resulted in turbulence in the state on Monday, as the governor’s loyalists stormed the assembly complex in protest against the plot.
The PDP Governors’ Forum, under the leadership of the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, in a communiqué read after a meeting of the group at the Oyo State Lodge in Abuja on Tuesday, commended President Bola Tinubu for his intervention in the political crisis.
The forum in a statement by its Director-General, Cyril Maduabum, on Wednesday, disclosed that the decision to visit Wike was reached at the forum’s meeting on Tuesday.
