ORILE AGEGE LCDA CHAIRMAN, JOHNSON BABATUNDE SUBSIDISES PRICES OF FOOD ITEMS FOR OVER 10,000 RESIDENTS

In order to reduce the hardship faced by Orile Agege residents as a result of removal of fuel subsidy, Executive Chairman of Orile Agege Local Council Development Area, Hon. Johnson Babatunde subsidised prices of food items like rice, beans, garri and yam for over 10,000 residents today.

The Sale of the subsidised food items were done across 64 locations within the council area.

There are selling points for teachers, civil servants, traders and youths across the six wards of the Local Council Development Area.

Recall that Council boss had stated that the concept of subsidizing food items is aimed at bringing succour to the residents during this harsh economy after removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government.

Babatunde further stated that the beneficiaries from over 10,000 households benefitted from the sales today after the reduction of the prices by 50-60 percent discount rate.
