The Indigenes and residents of Free Trade Zone Parcel B & Resettlement Community named Eyin Osa have protested against Lagos Taskforce, LSSTF boss, Dr Ayo Ogunsan and notorious landgrabber, Murphy Adebare Ademoye popularly known Topaz for land-grabbing, forceful taking over of residents’ lands and damaging their properties.
Th Eyin Osa resettled indigenes made the protest yesterday in front of a Lagos court.
According to the Secretary of Abomiti, Yeguda & Eyin-Osa Displaced Communities , Mrs Apena Adijat, Murphy Adebare has become terror on the flesh of every indigene and resident of Eyin Osa resettled community as he engaged the services of touts and Lagos State Taskforce to intimidate, damage and forceful evicting residents from their houses.
”I am using this medium to appeal to Lagos State Government to assist us in tackling the notorious landgrabber named Murphy Adebare Ademoye who has been demolishing our properties and evicted us from our our various homes. We are the original owners of the said landed property after Lagos State resettled us to the land legally with Certificate of Occupancy No. 33/33/2022 to Eyin-osa Resettlement zone; Certificate of Occupancy No. 93/93/2021F granted to Yeguda Resettlement Zone, and the Certificate of Occupancy No. 96/96/2021F to Abomiti,” she said.
Apena later accused the police officers attached to Lagos State Taskforce stationed on their land of doing the bidding of Murphy Adebare and his stalwart Dr Ayo Ogubsan.
On the same vein, Baale of Laporu, Eyin Osa, Chief Waheed hinted that Murphy Adebare Ademoye and his thugs have no land at Eyin Osa and they are just pure landgrabbers.
He said, ”I am the Baale of Laporu. Murphy Adebare Ademoye and his thugs are pure land grabbers and Lagos State Government should come to our aid. The lands are resettled lands given to us by Lagos State Government itself with Certificate of Occupancy.”
In the words of Chief Semiu Lawal, a community leader in Ibeju Lekki, claimed that Murphy Adebare of Topaz gardens is a renowned Landgrabber and he has been charged to court but he ran away for justice.
Lawal explained that ”Murphy’s notorious activities started on March 12, 2018, led to a bloodbath and the loss of several lives that compel the Zone 2 of Police Formation to declare him wanted then. It was believed that Adebare organized and sponsored the violence between the Baruwa and Dana Ogun families, both of whom claimed ownership of the disputed land. The police had allegedly been actively searching for Adebare since the incident but had been unsuccessful until recently when he resurfaced as a front person for Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, who is alleged to have been using his influence as the Chairman of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund in deceiving the IGP, D.I.G Force C.I.D to give directive through ACP Jejeloye of the Lagos State Task Force to make it look as if the State Government is backing the accused landgrabber.’
According to Eyin Osa residents, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan of Lagos State Security Trust Fund is the physical figure obstructing justice against Murphy Adebare.
Adebare was accused of encroaching, and trespassing on land belonging to the Baruwa family, despite warnings from the elders of the Dana Ogun family. He allegedly recruited armed youths to attack the Baruwa people, resulting in injuries, deaths, and property damage. Investigations by the police confirmed Adebare’s involvement in the violence, but he had managed to elude capture until now.
Hotnewssnaija.com.ng gathered that since the arrest and arraignment of Murphy Adebare in court, he never shown up in court since May 31st, 2023. In response to his absence, the court instructed the police prosecutor to issue a notice to Adebare and his lawyer, stating that his appearance is mandatory for June 8th, 2023. Failure to comply would result in the court declaring him wanted by the police.
According to our correspondent who covered the court case yesterday, 8th June, 2023 ; Murphy Adebare was not in court as his lawyer declared that he was sick. Meanwhile, Justice Mojisola Dada has instructed the Police authority to produce him forcefully in the next adjourned date.
It is gathered that Murphy Adebare , popularly known as Topaz, has been telling many Nigerians that there is no charges against his person in court and claiming one Saheed Mosadoluwa ‘Ibile’ is the landgrabber.
While speaking with our correspondent during the protest in Lagos, Eyin Osa residents revealed that ‘Ibile’ is not the landgrabber but Topaz. They accused the owner of Topaz Gardens Global Investment Limited of landgrabbing, forceful eviction, parading of touts with dangerous weapons and false presentation of facts.
Meanwhile, the residents and indigenes of Ein Osa are pleading with government to ask Lagos State Taskforce to vacate their lands and implore all law machineries against the alleged landgrabber, Murphy Adebare Ademoye and his stalwart, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan of Lagos State Security Trust Fund to leave them in peace.
If found guilty of the charges in court, Adebare could face up to 10 years in prison, as stipulated by the law. The court proceedings on June 8th will play a crucial role in determining the confidence of Lagosians in the Lagos State Property Protection Law 2016 and that is what Dr Ayo Ogunsan allegedly bebelieved to be trying to use his office to destabilize for Topaz to evade justice.
This case has attracted significant attentions due to the allegation of the Eyin Osa Resettlement Committee allegation against the personality of Dr Ayo Ogunsan who is holding an important post within the committee in charge of Lagos State Security Trust Fund. Many Nigerians are wondering how he can be using his influence to mislead the police for a landgrabber whom the police investigation has confirmed to be an invader and police legal department has file charges against. Lagosians are eagerly awaiting the court hearing to see justice served and the resolution of the long-standing land dispute in Ibeju Lekki and Epe Area.
