An Islamic charity organisation, Habiba Charity Foundation continued its humanitarian services as it donated a furnished barbing salon to juvenile offenders of Borstal Training Institution, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Borstal Training Institution is where juvenile offenders are remanded and given both educational and vocational training to rehabilitate and reform them before reintegration into society.
As its mandate, Habiba Charity Foundation was established to cater for the welfare of downtrodden, prison inmates, juveniles and orphans.
While handing over the salon to the management of the institute, the founder of the Habiba Charity Foundation, Alh. Abdulrasheed Sunmola, represented by Project Coordinator, Hajjia Hafsat Otenike thanked the management of the institute for allowing the Foundation to set up the furnished barbing salon for the juveniles.
‘‘We thank the management of Borstal Training Institution, Abeokuta, Ogun State; for allowing us to set this project here. We urge the juveniles to make use of the salon to acquire necessary skills in barbing and make good life from it. . Apart from Habiba Charity Foundation, it is important for private individuals and groups to come to the aid of institutes like this.
‘‘We cannot do it alone considering the numbers of areas that need attention. We urge all meaningful Nigerians (Home and abroad) to contribute to Habiba Charity Foundation so that we can touch many more lives,’’ he said.
Recall that Habiba Charity Foundation has constructed many structures, involved in empowerment of widows and aged ones; and sunk boreholes for many custodian centres across Southwestern States of the country.
